Papers of research work might be published in a scholarly journal, presented at a symposium or even given as a report to the management of a company. These paper are most often expected to follow a specific format based on specification of the institution, publication or corporation. Although the specifications may be unique to an area, scientific reports in general all have a very similar structure.
The report component specifications outlined in this section are for reports written for the Capilano College 1st year Physics Labs.
This lab period will consist of a lab talk discussing the various components of a report. After the talk, the 2nd lab quiz of the semester will be done. The lab quiz is open notebook with questions primarily from experiments that were done after the 1st quiz. Students will be asked to leave their notebooks in the lab after completing the quiz.
