3D Club: Review of the first meeting, Oct 27/97

15 people (possibly more and with also at least that many regrets) came for the first meeting of the 3D Club. The meeting was held at 7:30pm at Capilano College in North Vancouver. All those who attended were interested in stereo photography  with backgrounds ranging from beginners to professionals. Other interests such as vr or computers were not represented.

There after, we began a more structured meeting with Bernd Simson, Rolf Eipper and Gary Cullen (the three primary promoters for the club beginnings) introducing this new club and the motivations behind it. This evolved into each person at the meeting introducing themselves with their specific interest in 3D. This description of a persons interest often sparked an interesting discussions and questions.

The meeting then went on to presentation of some 3D slides that some members had brought with them. These were presented with Third Dimension Company (TDC) 116 projector and a Viewmaster Stereomatic 500 projector onto a silver screen (and viewed with polarized glasses). Some of the slides seen were:

Small group discussions evolved in the Physics lab with the last of our members leaving for home around midnight.
