Lunar images are actual photos taken by astronauts on Apollo missions. 3D stereo is the result of (sometimes by coincidence) a scene being photographed from two positions. With judicious cropping and enhancement, these photos now allow you to immerse yourself into the original event of walking on the moon.

The NASA Apollo program utilized a Saturn V rocket to fly astronauts to the moon. Missions 11-17 intended to place astronauts on the moon (Apollo 13 was aborted in space).
