3D Photography Overview
3D photography (stereo photography) uses specialized cameras and
adapters to capture a left/right view.
Once captured, images are prepared for their intended type of viewing.
Examples of stereo photography is found in our
3D Galleries.
3D photography necessarily also requires post editing in preparing images
for the client application. Post editing includes twin image adjustments (alignment,
matching, stereo adjusts), mono adjustments (Photoshop type enhancements) and rendering
for the display application (for how the image will be viewed in 3D). The stereo workflow

I have been involved with stereo photography since 1990 with primary interest in
developing digital 3D techniques. Examples of my pictures are shown in the
3D gallery. Recent interests have revolved around photographing Caribbean
resorts as well as publishing to
3D Pix format. For stereo photography I currently use twinned Canon 30D.
In my research lab, I work with the Canon EOS system. I collaborate with Gary Cullen with many of my stereo activities.
My base is in Vancouver, Canada where I do stereo photography as part of my professional
activities while on faculty with the
Physics department of
Capilano University.
